Ignite's Junior Development Program (JDP) is a fun, safe, social and active program for girls and boys aged 7 to 10.
It allows kids of all abilities a positive introduction to netball whilst teaching the basic skills in a safe and fun environment through a clinic-style program made up of drills and modified games.
This is ideal for new younger players hoping to get a feel for netball while also preparing for potential placement into an Ignite team.

JDP Coordinator: Bec Hedley

Ignite Netball Club runs the following programs:
- JDP (Wednesday afternoons 3:30 - 4:30pm) is for Grade 1 – Grade 3 and focuses on developing and refining fundamental motor skills - and introducing modified netball matches
- GO (Monday games and Wednesday afternoon training) is for Grade 3/4's who have completed at least one season of JDP and who are ready and want to develop netball specific skills through modified netball matches played on a Monday afternoons at Sportlink Vermont South. Waiting lists may apply. Players move to the Saturday competition after completing a few seasons of GO.

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2024 :We will be running our Junior Development Program in both the Autumn and Spring seasons. Each season will run for 10 weeks to allow flexibility for make up sessions on week's that are cancelled due to coach unavailability, major school events, weather etc. The program caters for Grade 1’s - Grade 3's.
Both boys and girls are encouraged to participate. The program runs once a week on Wednesdays (3:30 - 4:30pm) held on the blue undercover outdoor court near the bottom level of the Community Hub.. Fees are $171 for all participants. This includes an annual Netball Victoria fee of $66. Spring season will be $105 for repeat participants and $171 for new participants. Important: Please note parents are expected to stay as a spectator during the sessions or nominate another responsible parent for their child. |
GO program 2024 :Suitable for Grade 3/4 players who have completed JDP - please email the Club directly with your name, age and experience if interested to join a GO team or express your interest to Bec Hedley.
